LouVino permanently closed its Mass Ave location Saturday after six years of operations.
The announcement was shared in a post to the restaurant’s Instagram and Facebook pages Saturday afternoon.
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closing of LouVino Mass Ave, effective September 6th,” the post reads. “We have truly enjoyed serving the Indianapolis community for the last 6 years and are incredibly grateful for the unwavering support of our amazing community.”
The Southern-inspired restaurant and wine bar entered the Indianapolis market in 2016 with a Fishers location, then under the ownership of founders Chad and Lauren Coulter. The downtown location, 530 Massachusetts Ave., opened in 2019 and occupied about 4,700 square feet in the Penrose on Mass development.
The brand was sold to Louisville-based Endeavor Restaurant Group in 2020. Endeavor was founded by Steve Ritchie, former CEO of Papa John’s International.
Representatives of Endeavor Restaurant Group did not immediately respond to messages seeking comment.
LouVino closed its Fishers location, 8626 E 116th St., in 2023 and replaced it with another Endeavor brand, Cooper & Cow Steakhouse. The restaurant and bourbon bar, inspired by the Prohibition era, opened in December of that year and features a menu that includes steaks, seafood, bourbon, cocktails and wines.
According to Endeavor’s website, two LouVino restaurants remain in operation: one in Louisville, and another in Cincinnati.

This place was not very good, and couldn’t meet the quality expectations of its price point. Good riddance.

Their Political leanings were the reason I gave my business to the neighbors. Maybe I was the only that tires of the flags and “statements” that are posted on retail doors. Everyone serves everyone, so just get back to serving us well.
