I heard a good analogy. A mob boss moves into town and shakes down everybody on main street for “protection” money. Now everyone scrambles to one at a time negotiate with the new mob boss.
Trump is using the economic power built by the US over the last 80 years to shake down the rest of the world, and wants each country to come groveling one by one. It’s not about what good for the US. He said he doesn’t care. It’s about people kissing his rings and stoking his ego.
Too bad that the Republican Party cannot see how un-American it is to have our presidency run like the mafia.
Dan I guess you think it’s okay for the United States not to have tariffs on goods imported from other countries but it’s okay for them to slap tariffs on goods that they import from the United states?
If a foreign country wants to slap 24% tariffs on goods imported from the United States then it’s only fair that the United States slapped 24% tariffs on goods imported from that country.
It’s funny when Bernie Sanders was all for tariffs and Nancy pelosi and Obama were all for tariffs but now that Trump’s doing it they’re all against it. And go back I believe there’s actually a video from 1996 or 1997 where Nancy is asking for tariffs to be placed on China.
