Nexstar Media Group Inc., the owner of CBS affiliate WTTV-TV Channel 4 and Fox affiliate WXIN-TV Channel 59 in Indianapolis, has named Dominic Mancuso as vice president and general manager of local operations, the company said Thursday.

Mancuso, a 35-year broadcasting veteran, held the same position for Nexstar in Buffalo, New York, for CBS affiliate WIVB-TV and CW affiliate WNLO-TV.

Nexstar said he will begin his new job immediately.

Mancuso will replace Jamie Aitken, who left this month for unspecified reasons after more than three years at WXIN and WTTV. Aitken had been hired by previous owner Tribune Broadcasting.

Before his 3-year stay in Buffalo, Mancuso was general manager for Raycom Media stations in Cleveland and for Sinclair Broadcasting in Nashville, Tennessee.

He spent 15 years in Chicago, including three years as vice president of programming for Fox and 12 years at WGN as station manager and director of sales.

Mancuso is familiar with Indiana. He received his marketing degree from the University of Notre Dame, and all three of his children graduated from Indiana colleges. His wife is a Lafayette native who graduated from Purdue University.

“I am extremely excited to be returning to Indiana and to be leading such vital and vibrant broadcast, digital, and mobile operations as those of WTTV-TV and WXIN-TV,” he said in written remarks. “These are strong stations with talented and experienced staffs and a legacy of service to the local community.”
