I was motivated to write a long overdue letter of appreciation after reading Feltman’s column in the July 17 IBJ: “Are you ready for some positive news?” My answer is a resounding Yes!
I have restricted my reading/watching of the news because it almost always hypes the negative news, is depressing and polarizing and generally promotes an agenda throughout the newspaper or program. Whether or not one agrees with the agenda, it is inappropriate outside of the editorial/columnist portion of the news. Likewise, I limit my reading of social media because some postings are vicious and divisive, frequently with little regard or tolerance for differing opinions.
Thank you for continuing to provide accurate, balanced and well-written articles throughout the publication.
