Letter: Protect God’s creation

I am aware of Gary Varvel’s strong evangelical faith [Why this evangelical is not afraid of climate change, Forefront, Nov. 22]. His ultimate faith and trust in God is something many would agree with. However, his statements regarding man not being able to destroy the climate because God would not allow it is putting way too much of a burden on God for the failures of man. As Varvel knows, man has “free will” and as such makes many bad choices, both individually and collectively. Climate change is not totally caused by man, but all people must do what they can to protect the environment that God created.
