  1. A big short fall is medicaid coming out of the SS trust fund. This needs to end. Find another money pocket to fund it. When you add up all the scams being discovered, it really needs it’s own funding mechanism.

  2. I don’t understand why there is a withholding cap. I know a billionaire will still only be eligible to get a $3k/month check on retirement, but after one paycheck they hit the withholding cap for the year and pay nothing more into the system for the rest of the year.

The SS tax is regressive for the bottom 90%. Remove the withholding cap and I suspect the system will be solvent for extra decades.

    1. You mean us boomers that paid in for all our life and won’t get what we paid in back? Should we keep working to pay for all the youngsters who don’t work?

  3. TAX AI bots that replace human workers just like the humans were taxed for doing the work taken from them by AI . It would be very politically popular taxing AI to fully fund human services such as Social Security , Medicare , Medicaid ,supplimental income and disability . Why should only the Oligarchs That own those AI systems benefit financially from AI . Make AI a funding source for the benefit of humanity .
