  1. It’s a stretch to call the proposed 1% food and beverage tax applicable to the entire counties of Lake and Porter a “hospitality” tax. The Indiana legislature reduces funding for schools, health care, etc. but is willing to add a new tax for a billionaire team owner. This is the type of issue that should be in a referendum and voted on by those county residents.
