State reports 618 new COVID-19 cases, two-week low in deaths

The Indiana State Department of Health on Sunday reported 618 new COVID-19 cases and two new deaths, the lowest number of new deaths in a daily report since Aug. 9, when one was reported.

The state has seen 172 newly reported deaths from the virus over the past two weeks, an average of 12.3 per day.

The department reported the testing of 8,354 new individuals, down from more than 11,500 in Saturday’s report.

The state’s 7-day testing-positivity rate dipped to 7.5% on Sunday and the overall testing-positivity rate stayed at 8.8%.
