The bank’s newest local branch is at 3039 Clary Blvd. South Drive in Bargersville, just west of Indiana 135 between County Road 700 North and Smokey Row Road.
The newly constructed 3,600-square-foot branch had its official grand opening earlier this month.
Paula Moan, Stock Yards Bank’s Indianapolis market president, said the bank is working to open two more branches in the Indianapolis area.
“We’ll be eight branches [in the Indianapolis market] in the next year and a half or two years,” she said.
Next up, Moan said, will be a Zionsville branch at the southwest corner of Michigan Road and 116th Street. That project is on the agenda for consideration at the Zionsville Plan Commission’s April 21 meeting.
If all goes as planned, Moan said, the Zionsville branch should be up and running next year.
After that, Stock Yards Bank plans to open a branch on the north side of Indianapolis, Moan said.
In the longer term, Moan said, the bank plans to operate between 12 and 14 branches in this market, opening one new location per year until it reaches that goal.
Stock Yards first established an area presence in 2003 when it opened a loan production office in downtown Indianapolis. The bank now has two branches in Indianapolis, and one each in Bargersville, Carmel, Greenwood and Plainfield. It also has four other Indiana locations in the southern part of the state—one each in Austin, Clarksville, Jeffersonville and New Albany.
In addition to its Indiana locations, Stock Yards has 58 offices in Kentucky and five Ohio offices in the Cincinnati metro area, for a total of 73 across its entire operating footprint.
Stock Yards Bank, which was founded in 1904 to serve the livestock industry, today has about 1,100 employees, 60 of whom work in the Indianapolis market.
The bank has $8.9 billion in total assets.
