Letter: Thankful for Mutz’s courage in opposing Trump

During my career at IBJ, John Mutz was one of the people in the business community I most respected. I always believed the former lieutenant governor was a man of class, character and strong intellect. His column denouncing Donald Trump on the op-ed page [“I’m still a proud Republican, but we must defeat Trump,” Sept. 25], demonstrated those qualities once again. Thank you, John, for having the vision and courage to make your thoughts known to the community and express them so clearly. I hope other traditionally Republican voters follow his lead and vote to remove this toxic presence known as Trump—who has done so much damage to our country at home and abroad—from the White House. As John says, Joe Biden might not be the best alternative from a policy standpoint, but he is smart and a decent human being.
