The Bacon Honeybun Burger, sandwiched between—you guessed it—two grilled honeybuns will be among the 40 new offerings at this year’s state fair, Aug. 1-17 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, 1202 E. 38th St. The concoctions are part of the annual Taste of the Fair event, in which vendors compete for fan-favorite bites and sips.
Other toppling offerings are the Piggyback Stack, a pork burger topped with a beef patty and then the usual fixings; Pickle Fried Oreos, which stacks a pickle chip atop a Golden Oreo, then deep-fries it; and two drink offerings known as the Brunch Mary and the Brunch Mimosa, both featuring the bases you’d expect, topped with a mini sandwich, a waffle stick, bacon and doughnuts.
Fairgoers will be able to vote for their favorite items at any Prairie Farms information booth or by scanning the QR codes displayed at participating concessions stands.
The top three fan favorites will win cash prizes of $2,500, $1,000 and $500, respectively.

Little wonder Indiana has one of the highest rates of obesity. They ran out of good ideas about 20 years ago.
