  1. This administration and its minions are pushing this country towards civil unrest. I will not allow my vote to be relegated to a trash heap so the super majority can secure even more of a super majority. Why is there not a movement to have a constitutional convention? Gerrymandering is a stain on the democratic process and needs to be eliminated. While we’re at it how about eleminating super pacs, making election day a holiday, and so many other issues that limit a citizens right to a free and fair election.

    1. Perhaps you should educate yourself regarding history!! Given that the Constitution gives democratically elected legislators the duty to draw Congressional lines, how will you stop it? Massachusetts and Illinois are two of the most egregious examples of gerrymandering! Only now, you object? btw, you don’t seem to mind the transparent and deliberate attempt to corrupt our census by importing millions of illegals just to boost Democrat majorities!! Oh, and if a few fentanyl dealers killing thousands sneak in, and a few child sex traffickers sneak in, who cares, right?? Political parties are about obtaining and retaining office….that’s it!

  2. The Republican Party is headed by Donald Trump, a convicted felon, and adjudicated rapist, who was best friends with child molester, Jeffrey Epstein. Now Trump wants to pardon Maxwell, also a child molester. Oh, and Trump also wants to make sure every sane person who finds him and his party disgusting are shut out of democracy because they are terrified that if they don’t rig the rules they will lose.

    1. Hope your Homeowners Insurance policy covers “Personal Injury” because you just libeled Trump! He is NOT a convicted rapist and, when the prior convictions are overturned, your first statement will no longer be operative. And your last sentence is non-sense! On the other hand, your party imports felons to sell fentanyl, sex-traffic kids and committed treason by faking the “Russia collusion” hoax to take down a President! And, your media still tells you that happened and you fools still believe it! Oh, I know, Hunter’s laptop is “Russian Disinformation” and the earth is definitely flat! Do you worship Satan actively or just passively?

  3. A portion of the cost of Vance’s travel to Indianapolis cannot be paid by tax dollars since there was a blatant political (fund raising) event. Let’s check the government and party records to be sure all laws were complied with, knowing as we do how Trump-Vance care nothing about being law-abiding.

  4. And all these comments tell our leadership how we feel.
This is ŵhat happens when parents raise their children when they, the parent is ill equiped.
I made my mistakes and i learned from them.
Im daddened for our future because the damage he is causing will not evolve just because he goes out of officè.

    1. You miss the point that under extrema gerrymandering, your vote just doesn’t matter and that your rep doesn’t have to listen to anyone, much less “represent” you.

Gloat all you want, you should be angry that your vote doesn’t matter.

    2. As an Indiana native who has voted Republican more than Democrat, I am terrified and would be just as terrified by this if the Democrats attempted it. This isn’t about party politics, this is about preserving a two party system with checks and balances. I appreciate our state Republican leaders recognizing the importance of balanced power and democracy rather than absolute power and the peril that brings.

  5. I already live in a “packed” district. Indiana ranks 11th for most Gerrymandered State. My only hope is that it backfires, and currently “safe” GOP districts get diluted to the point they become a toss up, or that GOP incumbents are forced to run against each other.

It seem that the new GOP Motto is; “If you can’t win on policy, then cheat.”

    1. Good luck with that, especially since the previously stalwort for the Republicans in the area, Hamilton County, has moved from red to purple as more people flee Indianapolis making the Dems stronger every election. Which is not a bad thing, a good race keeps both parties on their toes.

    2. The 7th is already a “packed” district in that it guarantees a safe Dem seat while making the surrounding districts safe Republican seats.

Particularly, the 5th came within 4 points of being a D districts before being re-done and cut off all of northern Indianapolis from it.

The 1st is much more likely to turn red, even without doing anything. Lake County has voted less Democratic on the Presidential ticket every year since 2008. And without a strong top ticket, down ballot can suffer. The US House seat usually runs a bit ahead of POTUS/Gov, but get another weak Dem top ticket and a strong GOP Congressional challenger and I think the GOP could be competitive.

  6. VP Vance traveled here by kayak and had the water level of his riparian highway raised by the Army Corps of Engineers to do it. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/aug/07/jd-vance-ohio-river-level and https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2025/08/07/vp-vance-boating-ohio-river-level-raised/e4dda3a8-73bd-11f0-84e0-485bb531abeb_story.html

Talk about a throwback to days of yore! He probably had his court musicians of the Chapel Royal playing Handel’s Water Music for him. He tossed crumbs of bread to the peasants groveling along the banks.

  7. Ask any republican in Marion county, (if there are any left) how much their vote counts!! And you fools elected a drunk, moronic mayor bc of abortion…how’d that work out for you?

    1. You’re repeating quite a bit of nonsense this morning John. The Epstein files have really thrown you off haven’t they? I can’t blame you. If a man I idolized suddenly became a suspect in the very sex trafficking operation I thought he was fighting to end, I’d feel broken too. Good thing I don’t idolize politicians.

Your point about Marion County makes 0 sense, by the way. Marion County Republicans haven’t had power stripped from them.Their votes are counted the same as they always have been. The Republican brand is so toxic in urban America that most of us view you guys as totally delusional and unable to be reasoned with. You don’t care about cities, so why would people who live in large cities support your party?
