Older adults are expected to outnumber children in nearly half of Indiana’s counties by 2050, according to the Indiana Business Research Center at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.

More than 70% of Indiana’s counties, many of which are rural and also lost population in the 2020 census, are expected to lose residents over the next 30 years.
