‘Pure Prine’ returning to the Phoenix

There hasn’t been an official announcement from the Phoenix Theatre yet, but performers featured in the company’s
two-week-run hit :Pure Prine” are letting their fans know that the show is coming back in August for a multi-week run.

The brainchild of Phoenix Producing Director Bryan Fonseca, the show weaves together songs by John Prine to tell the story
of six bar dwellers (played by local musician/actors including Tim Grimm and Tim Brickley). See my review
of the initial production here.

Before the “Pure Prine” return, though, the Phoenix still has to finish out the run of “Speech and Debate”
and launch the Midwest premiere of Neil LaBute’s “Reasons to be Pretty.”
