Upcoming ‘Superstar’ features ‘N Sync-er, Sex Pistol and Destiny’s Child

You don't have to go to a reunion concert to see a gathering of former rock and pop stars on one-stage.

Instead, consider the arena tour of the musical "Jesus Christ Superstar."

Casting recording stars in the show is nothing new. Styx's Dennis DeYoung, Skid Row's Sebastian Bach and singer Irene Cara are among those who have performed in previous productions.

But the one coming to Bankers Life Fieldhouse Aug. 2 is unprecedented in its casting. Brandon Boyd from Incubus will be playing Judas. former ‘N SYNC-er JC Chasez plays Pontius Pilate, former Destiny's Child Michelle Williams takes on Mary Magdalene, and former PiL and Sex Pisol John Roten Lydon plays Herod.

As for Jesus, unless you watch British TV music competitions, you are unlikely to know Ben Forster.

So does this cast make the Andrew Lloyd Webber warhorse seem a must see?

Tickets, which range from $34.50-$124.50, go on sale to the general public Friday, May 16.
