“The Question: A New Kind of Talk Show”

Here something new in the local entertainment mix. Professor Lyle and Sir Doug host a chat show whose guests include Cheech B eats, Andre Smiley, Trey Avant, and Chad Radar. Musical guests Allison Victorias and Yadin Kol add to the experience. July 29  The Jazz Kitchen Details 

“Grown Up Songs”

The music of Stephen Sondheim, Johnny Mercer, Billy Joel and more make the cut when John Pizzareli and Jessica Molaskey bring their “Grown Up Songs” revue to the Cabaret. For those unfamiliar, he’s the Grammy-nominated guitarist and singer who picked up at Ella Fitzgerald Award from the Montreal International Jazz Festival. She’s appeared in Broadway shows including “Sunday in the Park with George,” “Tommy,” and “Parade.” Cabaret at the Columbia Club July 29  Details 

“Night at the Barre”

For this program, dancers from the Indiana Ballet Conservatory who recently completed a summer intensive workshop share the stage with professionals from American Ballet Theater. The work includes “Variations from Giselle” as well as student choreography and work created by guest choreographer Gemma Bond from American Ballet Theatre.  July 29 Palladium Details

The latest incarnations of The Temptations and The Four Tops share the bill in a symphony-free Symphony on the Prairie concert July 29-31.

Dance Kaleidoscope revives its “Cole!” program for two nights at the Schrott Center July 30-31.

Brad Paisley plays Klipsch Music Center on July 30 with Gwen Stefani next on July 31.

Concerts at the Lawn at White River State Park include Tedeschi Trucks Band July 27 and Halsey on July 29.
