Mellencamp in the Hall of Fame

Just moments ago, it was announced that John Mellencamp will be inducted into Cleveland’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. A celebration of the honorees will occur March 10 at the Waldorf-Astoria in NYC.

Is it too early for Mellencamp? Too late? The right time?

Does an institution like the R&R Hall of Fame really jibe with the rebel rockers it often celebrates?

And, come on, isn’t there a more appropriate place to celebrate than the Waldorf?
