—Theatre on the Square has announced its upcoming season. It opens Sept. 18 with “Ug! The Caveman Musical” which seems a good fit for audiences that enjoy such recent TOTS successes as “Evil Dead: The Musical.” Other potential highlights for the season include the off-Broadway hit “Jewtopia” in December, and the monologue anthology “My First Time” in January.
–Two of my favorite holiday visitors won’t be back this year. —Carmel Symphony Orchestra has scheduled a Sept. 25 performance with Michael Feinstein. That will be a busy weekend for music lovers (particularly fans of George Gershwin), who may already have plans to attend the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra’s opening night on the 26th featuring Gabriela Montero performing Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue.” AcademyAward winner F. Murray Abraham will also be performing narration for the Aaron Copland’s “Lincoln Portrait” during the ISO show.
