The Ashley Furniture HomeStore location in Carmel will close later this month after the owner and landlord failed to come
to terms on a lease renewal. Ashley locations in Greenwood and Avon will remain open, and store owner Chris
Caprio says he’s scouting for a new Ashley location on the north side. He said the Carmel store, which opened
in 2002 at 2003 E. Greyhound Pass, will hold a liquidation sale starting Jan. 14. The Indianapolis-area
stores are run by an independent affiliate of Ashley, which in 2007 passed Wal-Mart to become the top furniture
and bedding retailer in the U.S.
