Broad Ripple bonanza: Four new shops slated for same block on main drag

A slew of vacancies all in the same block along Broad Ripple’s main drag are slated to be filled by four tenants, bringing new blood to the north-side shopping and restaurant destination.

Goodfellas Pizzeria has signed a lease for 914 Broad Ripple Ave., where Wild Side Smoke Shop was located and next to The Exchange.

The Lexington, Kentucky-based pizzeria is making a push into Indianapolis. A downtown location also in the works—as reported by Property Lines in May—in the Millikan on Mass apartment project on the triangular block bounded by Massachusetts Avenue and Michigan and East streets.

Both outposts should open in March, said Gary Perel, a retail broker with Alo Property Group, who represents Goodfellas.

Goodfellas has three locations in Kentucky—two in Lexington and one in Covington—and another in Cincinnati.

• Next door, to the east, Alchemy Supply Co. is set to open next month at 916 Broad Ripple Ave. in the space formerly occupied by Niche.

Alchemy has an existing store at 110 W. Main St. in Carmel’s Arts and Design District. The locally owned retailer provides jewelry and accessories for both men and women.

• Adjacent to Alchemy, Fira Boutique is opening Nov. 17 at 918 Broad Ripple Ave., where Lucky B Boutique was located.

This will be the second location for Fira, a women’s clothing store, which launched in 2013 in Urbana, Illinois.

• And Erbert & Gerbert's Sandwich Shop should open by spring at 930 Broad Ripple Ave. in the 1,400-square-foot space formerly occupied by Sigman’s Gallery at the intersection of Westfield Boulevard.

The Eau Claire, Wisconsin-based chain has about 70 locations, mostly in Wisconsin and Minnesota. The Broad Ripple store would be its first in Indianapolis.

Perel represented the building owner in the Alchemy, Fira and Erbert leases.
