“I had some investors that failed last minute and I just couldn’t do it on my own,” she said.
Construction of the 2,241-square-foot space in the Traders Point Shopping Center on West 86th Street had already begun.
Norris and her husband, Marcus, filed for bankruptcy May 20, claiming more than $500,000 in debt. Among the creditors is locally based Kite Realty Group, for her lease on the Traders Point space.
Norris said items sold under the R.Lynda label will remain available for purchase on rlynda.com.
“It’s hard because the store was my dream, but my business isn’t going anywhere,” she said.
