Indianapolis-based Language Training Center Inc. plans a $1.5 million expansion that will lead to the hiring of 26 more employees by 2017, the company announced Thursday.
The 20-year-old company, which offers language-training, translation and interpreting services, said it plans to expand its headquarters at 5750 Castle Creek Parkway by 3,500 feet. LTC also has an office in Shanghai, China
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered LTC up to $165,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $60,000 in training grants, based on the company's job-creation plans.
LTC provides services to school districts, hospitals, courts, fire departments and businesses including Eli Lilly and Co., Roche Diagnostics and the NCAA.
New hires will include sign language interpreting specialists, linguists, office managers and customer service representatives.
"The expansion of LTC shows that Indy's international business needs are growing right along with it," Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard said in a prepared statement. "This is good news for the future of our city as international companies looking to expand into the U.S. market see us as an ideal location due to our strong business climate."
