The Aerospace Industries Association plans to host its Supplier Management Council conference in Indianapolis in the spring of 2018, state officials announced Tuesday from a prestigious airshow in England.

The conference is held three times a year.

The Indianapolis event will be presented in partnership with Rolls-Royce and the state of Indiana. Rolls-Royce is an England-based company with facilities worldwide. It employs about 4,000 employees in the Indianapolis area.

AIA is a leading aerospace trade association that represents more than 300 aerospace and defense manufacturers and suppliers. The Arlington, Virginia-based organization was established in 1919.

AIA made the Indianapolis announcement at the Farnborough International Airshow in England, which is the world’s largest aviation industry exhibition.

A delegation of Indiana business, education and economic development leaders are attending the airshow, which includes a trade show on July 11-15 and a public show July 16-17.
