CNO Financial extends sponsorship deal with Monumental Marathon

CNO Financial Group Inc. announced Tuesday morning that it will continue to be the title sponsor for the Monumental Marathon for another two years.

CNO initially signed a three-year deal in June 2016 to become the title sponsor of the annual race organized by local not-for-profit Beyond Monumental.

The financial terms of the agreement were not released, but in 2016, sports marketers estimated it could be a six-figure annual deal.

With the extended agreement, CNO will be the title sponsor through 2020.

The 2018 CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon is scheduled for Nov. 3 in downtown Indianapolis. The event also includes a half marathon, 5K and kids fun run.

The marathon has sold out for the past six years. In 2017, 4,675 runners finished the marathon, making it the 16th largest in the nation that year. During the past two years, a total of more than 30,000 runners have participated in the marathon, half marathon or 5K.

“The CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon and its races provide an exceptional opportunity for people to come together to run, walk and volunteer,” Gerardo Monroy, chief marketing officer of CNO Financial Group, said in a written statement. “CNO Financial is pleased to extend our title sponsorship and continue to work with Beyond Monumental in supporting our shared commitment to health and wellness in our community.”
