Email marketing company Delivra Inc., which was founded in Indianapolis in 1999, has been acquired by Victoria, British Columbia-based tech firm Redbrick Technologies Inc.

Redbrick, which announced the acquisition on Wednesday, said Delivra’s 21-person workforce will continue to be based in Indianapolis and that all Delivra employees will keep their jobs.

Financial terms were not disclosed for the acquisition, which closed Dec. 23.

“We are excited to join the Redbrick team and bring the strengths of their robust portfolio as a whole to our customers,” Delivra CEO Barbara Berry said in a written statement. “With our combined digital marketing expertise, we are well-positioned to provide entrepreneurs and small businesses with a full suite of tools they can use to cultivate meaningful relationships with new and existing customers.”

This is the second time Delivra has been acquired in recent years. In fall 2017, it was acquired by Sydney, Australia- based Campaign Monitor, a global software-as-a-service company that specializes in email marketing.

Founded in 2011, Redbrick is the parent company to a portfolio of five operating companies: the digital publishing company Assembly; the productivity app Shift; software company Rebase; the no-code website-building company Leadpages; and, now, Delivra.

Redbrick describes itself as an investor focused on launching and growing disruptive digital companies. In some cases, Redbrick develops an idea in-house and then launches a company around that idea. In other cases Redbrick acquires the company, as it did with Delivra and with its 2020 acquisition of Minnesota-based Leadpages. In 2020, following the Leadpages acquisition, Redbrick had a total employee count of more than 100.

In announcing the Delivra acquisition, Redbrick called Delivra’s email, text-messaging and marketing automation software a strategic addition to its capabilities, and an especially good fit with Leadpages.

“Delivra and Leadpages have an obvious synergy—an entrepreneur can attract leads on a site built with Leadpages and nurture their expanding customer base with Delivra’s personalized email and marketing automations,” Redbrick’s website said.

Delivra has a considerable customer base in central Indiana, including IBJ. Delivra handles delivery of IBJ Eight @8, IBJ Daily and other mass emails for IBJ.
