all of this is great…..but if the political “leadership” of Indianapolis and Marion County (Mayor, Prosecutor, Sherrif and Police Chief) are not successful in controlling crime and the homeless problem, this will ultimately fail! It’s high time that Indiana and its urban areas come together to get the seriously mentally ill off the streets and to arrest, convict and incarcerate violent criminals!

Presumably part of the incentive for the Associations Now ad buy is Indy hosting the ASAE Annual Meeting in August 2026. It is largely considered the Super Bowl of association conventions and host cities bend over backwards to spitshine their locations in the hopes of converting the hundreds of qualified leads who will be in attendance.
I wish Indy had this foresight when a portion of the Capital Commons area outside the Westin was used for the new Simon building. While it isn’t perfect (and still partially exists), this semi-green space provides a decent respite for those stuck inside all day, such as convention goers, downtown visitors and workers.
