The change that’s really needed is a Constitutional amendment to require a supermajority in each house of the Legislature to overturn a Governor’s veto. Our Legislature already has too much power to stick its nose in places where it doesn’t belong.
Yep. Unbelievable that they try to claw even more power from our weak executive branch.
I seem to recall that the governor, numerous times during the COVID emergencies, asked legislative leadership if they wanted to be called into special session and they declined.
So, that being the case, maybe what needs to happen is that legislators should remove their majority leaders with new ones who will listen to them… and not another law.
