  1. Also, I have to wonder if this is really a good thing. The US has some of the weakest controls on media in the world. The rise of US based social media has destabilized governments and polarized politics all over the world and propaganda players have figured out how to weapoinize these platforms.

    I guess the only good here, is we will be pretty sure it’s all of the bad actors and not just China weaponizing this particular platform.

    1. Given who Trump steered the deal to, it’s just replacing the Chinese Communist Party with MAGA.

  2. This deal doesn’t fulfill the letter of the law, nor even the spirit of the law. Congress will need to reverse or amend the law for the deal to be legal.
