I for one, was really really surprised that May and June job numbers were are strong as they were first reported. Things just didn’t feel as rosy as the numbers made it look and with TACO Trump constantly creating chaos, it was hard to see how things were still so good. Unlike the Epstein case, I guess you can’t cover up bad news forever.
I guess another good strategy to keep the Federal Reserve in the dark is to make
sure those same DOGE cuts don’t give us good inflation numbers.

Trump got handed a good economy on a silver platter. All he had to do was keep playing golf and claim how great things now were with him in charge and we all would have been better off, and none of his supporters would have been any wiser. If only DOGE hadn’t gutted the department and we could have gotten realistic and accurate numbers on a timely basis. Then yes, it might be time to talk about a rate cut, but it shouldn’t happen without facts to back it up and the last meeting happened BEFORE this jobs report.

Its those comparisons and not the absolute numbers that matter the most. Trump has opened the door for every politician to change the metrics in their favor and the public will never know what is going on – which is exactly what he wants, an uninformed voter base that makes decisions purely on personality and self promotion and not actual performance.
