  1. What a joke of a plan. The people struggling to pay back burdensome student loans do not have reserves of wealth in 401k and IRA to draw from. This is only a tactic to provide a tax advantage to wealthier Americans. This is basically just creating loop holes to “save” money tax free for those at the top of the income brackets.

    1. Absolutely true. The vast majority of middle-aged and older people don’t have anywhere near as much money saved for retirement as they will need. As a CPA once told me, only touch your retirement accounts early in the event of bail or ransom.
