A balanced arts and entertainment community relies on long-running entities as well as newcomers, and central Indiana boasts both as the action-packed fall season arrives.
In terms of longevity, this event guide includes the Second Century Soiree planned at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, where 100 years are in the books and there’s no reason to stop now. Here, you can learn about concert promoter Geno Shelton, who’s spent 40 years getting the party started in Indianapolis.
What’s new? In Noblesville, the Arena at Innovation Mile hosts its first concert this weekend. The Downtown Dinner & Theatre concept at Murat Shrine Center is merely a few months old, and leadership at Mass Ave’s District Theatre is working toward founding a Latino theater company—which you can read about here.
Also in the works is a polarizing example of public art (is there any other kind?) in Broad Ripple. The artist behind “Gavin-Divergence” shares his motivation.
