  1. Bully for her. Even though she is not the Representative for my district (that would be Jim Baird, also a good guy), we should be thankful that decent people like Mrs. Spartz are willing to serve in Washington DC’s caustic, intellectually-polluted atmosphere.

    1. I think she left that phase for the ‘democratic socialist’ that will run against her. But I’ll write it – if it looks like a duck and sounds like a duck, it’s a ‘socialist ‘ duck! Just admit what you are.

  2. I don’t think I would have used the phrase, “I had to think long and hard, but after much deliberation”. If only after a few months on the job and your saying that it sounds like your saying this job is not what I thought it would be and I’m not sure I would want to do it again. That may not be true, but messaging is everything in politics.

  3. So the Democrats aren’t giving up? They threw everything that they had in the last election, including a very electable candidate. Spartz still won by a decent margin. If the legislature is smart, they will redraw the 5th by removing the southern most part that is in Marion County, possibly as far north as 86th St. That was the only area that Spartz lost, as she carried the other counties in the 5th. Face it, as long as Carson runs for the 7th, the Democrats have Marion Co. locked up. Just concede that portion of the 5th, and possibly pick part of it up elsewhere.
