The Heartland Film Festival teams with the Michael Feinstein Great American Songbook Initiative for a series of cinematic celebrations of song. It kicks off grandly with three days of screenings. Thursday features “White Christmas.” Friday, it’s “The Sound of Music” in the afternoon and, in the evening, Feinstein introducing “An American in Paris.” Saturday brings “The Wizard of Oz.” If those titles feel overtly familiar, stay tuned for “Alexander’s Ragtime Band” and “Kiss Me, Kate” (among others) coming soon.
