Fatal wreck snarls overnight traffic

A fatal crash blocked portions of Interstate 74 near Shelbyville early Tuesday. Emergency crews were called to the crash in the westbound lanes at about 12:40 a.m. Police diverted traffic from the scene of the accident, which involved a truck and a passenger car, for nearly three hours. The Indiana Department of Transportation said at least one person died, but no additional information was immediately available.
