The national headquarters of a men's fraternity plans to move from Missouri to Indiana.

Officials with Sigma Tau Gamma confirmed Tuesday that the headquarters will move from Warrensburg, Missouri, to Indianapolis, the Warrensburg Daily Star-Journal reported. The fraternity was founded in Warrensburg in 1920 near the University of Central Missouri.

The fraternity has 18 full-time employees and expects to move 17 of them to Indianapolis, leaving one behind at a small facility it owns in Warrensburg.

CEO Steve Latour said the fraternity expects to have a full-time staff of 30 to 45 by 2025.

Latour said the fraternity's board decided renovating its headquarters in Warrensburg to accommodate a growing staff was too expensive.

Renovations on an Indianapolis building are expected to be completed next year, he he said.

Thirty-four fraternities and sororities have headquarters in Indianapolis, and board members must travel to Indiana frequently for conferences, according to Latour. The move should save the fraternity $100,000 a year for travel, he added.
