The President’s son made a stop in the Hoosier state Monday at a Republican rally, making a pitch for Senate candidate Mike Braun and 6th District congressional candidate Greg Pence.

Hundreds of Hoosiers attended the Indiana Republican Party’s "Right Track Results Rally" at the Indianapolis Regional Airport in Hancock County on Monday afternoon.

Donald Trump Jr., eldest son of President Donald Trump, headlined the rally to urge Hoosier voters to cast their ballots for the Republican ticket this November.

“You don’t need to be career politicians to get it done,” Trump said. “In fact, you’ll do a lot better if you’re not.”

Trump went on to say Indiana has the opportunity to elect political outsiders in Braun, of Jasper, and Pence, of Columbus. Pence is the brother of Vice President Mike Pence, Indiana's former governor.

Greg Pence is seeking the seat left vacant by Rep. Luke Messer, who lost the Republican primary for the Senate to Braun, a former member of the Indiana House of Representatives. Challenging him are Democrat Jeannine Lee Lake and Libertarian Tom Ferkinhoff.

Braun is in a tight race against incumbent Democratic U.S. Sen. Joe Donnelly. Donnelly and Braun are in a statistical dead heat, according to recent polls, well ahead of Libertarian Lucy Brenton.

“Let’s put some leaders in there that know how to get it done,” Trump said. “Let’s put some guys who know how to grow a business.”

Attending the rally were Gov. Eric Holcomb, U.S. Sen. Todd Young, Secretary of State Connie Lawson, State Treasurer Kelly Mitchell, State Auditor Tera Klutz and Kimberly Guilfoyle, a former Fox News personality and vice chairwoman of American First Action Super Political Action Committee. They all called for Hoosiers to show up to the polls and vote Republican.

John Zody, chair of Indiana Democratic Party, issued a statement attacking Braun and his position on health care following the rally.

“None of the mudslinging and over-the-top partisanship at today’s rally has distracted Hoosiers from Rep. Braun’s lies about his support for dismantling coverage for the 1.1 million Hoosiers with preexisting conditions or his desire to help Mitch McConnell gut their Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid,” Zody said in written comments.

Braun's campaign has said Braun does support coverage for preexisting conditions but prefers "market-based" solutions to governmental ones.
