Drugmaker Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. plans to close one of its southern Indiana facilities and cut jobs at another.
The company said in a state filing that the actions will cost 79 people their jobs as it shuts down its Evansville quality-control
facility and another 34 jobs from cutbacks at its site in nearby Mount Vernon.
The New York-based company said
that all the job cuts would be made by the end of December.
Mount Vernon City Councilman Steve Fuelling told the
Evansville Courier & Press that he was surprised by the news since he thought the company was as solid as a rock.
