Howard County sheriff’s deputies are looking for a jail inmate who was released by mistake Wednesday morning. When
corrections officers called for inmate Joseph Garrett to be released, another inmate in that jail pod, Reginald Garrett, answered
the call and was let out by mistake. Two corrections officers failed to check jail records before releasing the wrong Garrett,
according to Howard County Sheriff Marty Talbert. The released Garrett is an unregistered sex offender, and could face additional
charges of false informing and forgery.
