Director of Strategy and Integrations, Probo Medical

When Hayley Brown’s college swimming career was cut short due to pinched nerves, she began filling her time with entrepreneurial endeavors, including starting a small marketing agency. After being accepted into the Orr Fellowship program, Brown connected with Jared Byczko and Fabian Rodriguez, who were at the beginning stages of the “Drink Culture” podcast. She became director of marketing, co-host and, eventually, co-owner of the show, interviewing 175-plus Indianapolis business leaders, entrepreneurs and thought leaders to help listeners “drink in what the city has to offer.” As an Orr fellow, she started work at Probo Medical as a marketing specialist and transferred into mergers and acquisitions earlier this year. Over the last year, she has worked on the company’s international marketing strategy while leading the rebrand of its UK, French and German offices.

Proud moment in your career? Leading the project of re-evaluating and re-establishing Probo Medical’s mission, vision and values in July 2021.

What have you learned about yourself since you joined the workforce? “I’m capable of substantially more than I originally considered possible, and to trust my gut more because my ideas aren’t so bad.”

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? “With my family, enjoying living in a cool Indianapolis neighborhood (maybe still Broad Ripple) and contributing to the city in a meaningful way.”
