Two children were critically injured in a fire Monday morning in a duplex on the east side of Indianapolis. The girls, a 4-year-old and 5-month-old, are in critical condition at Riley Hospital for Children. Their 28-year-old mother is in serious condition at Wishard Memorial Hospital. The mother was awakened by the fire about 3 a.m., but was unable to get to the children. Firefighters found the infant in her crib and the 4-year-old under her bed. Two men were found shot to death last week in the other half of the duplex.
