MORGAN COUNTY

Plastics firm building new HQ

A home-grown firm that manufactures a variety of plastic products is building a $2 million, 44,000-square-foot headquarters in Mooresville’s Flagstaff Business Park.

Mt. Olive Manufacturing is moving from 35,000 square feet it now occupies in the Plainfield Business Park. It is set to receive about $200,000 in tax abatements in the deal.

The firm, which has 26 employees and plans to hire five more in the next year, makes products ranging from a water-filled surgery drape used during open-heart surgeries to inflatable life vests for commercial aircraft, said Jeff Pipkin, deputy director of the Morgan County Economic Development Corp.

Mt. Olive was founded by Steve and Lisa Langley out of their Wilbur home in 1990. They are scheduled to move into their new headquarters on 7-1/2 acres in Mooresville in next spring.
