Biocrossroads lands $2.8 million Lilly Endowment grant

The state’s life sciences initiative, BioCrossroads, has received another big shot in the arm from Lilly Endowment.

The latest grant, of $2.8 million, brings to more than $25 million the amount the endowment has put into the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership Foundation for BioCrossroads over the last decade.

CICP’s BioCrossroads promotes the development of the state’s life sciences industry, which is estimated to encompass 825 companies and more than 8,800 jobs.

In a separate move, Lilly Endowment also awarded $1.6 million to the CICP Foundation for I-STEM Resource Network. Launched by BioCrossroads, I-STEM is a network of 17 universities and other institutions providing professional development for K-12 teachers toward improving student math and science skills.
