Rally seeks end to youth violence

July 16, 2013

Hundreds of people gathered at Veteran’s Memorial Plaza on Monday evening for The Stop the Violence Youth Rally. Organizers began planning the event after the July 4 shooting that killed 16-year-old Monquize Edwards following the downtown fireworks show. At least five young males have been gunned down in Indianapolis this month. Youth leaders say parents need to make an effort to get teens off the streets and into more productive activities.
