The Brookfield Group—which describes itself as a full-service technology company and serves clients in the health care, manufacturing, energy, legal and retail industries—will spend $7 million on its central Indiana operations.
The company already employs 40 in Indiana. The Indiana Economic Development Corp. said the new jobs will pay an average of nearly 50 percent above the state's average wage, which is about $21.21 per hour.
As part of its expansion, Brookfield said it plans to install voice and data systems, on-demand storage, cloud failover systems and scalable virtual systems at its 11,000-square-foot headquarters at 12400 N. Meridian St. in Carmel.
It addition, the company plans to update its Indianapolis data center to accommodate growing demand for voice and data cloud services.
“Carmel, Indiana, has been home for The Brookfield Group for 30 years,” Fadi Abdallah, the company’s founder and CEO, said in a statement. “Giving back to the community that supported you is the right thing to do. Carmel is a growing community, and The Brookfield Group is dedicated to its success.”
The company, which also has offices in St. Louis and Scotland, has seen revenue grow 35 percent annually over the past five years as demand for its services has grown, the IEDC said.
The IEDC offered The Brookfield Group up to $235,000 in tax credits and up to $100,000 in training grants based on the company’s job-creation plans. The incentives are performance-based, meaning they aren’t doled out until the company hires additional employees.

Brookfield Group was in the news last week for partnering with the Indianapolis-based The Speak Easy to open a co-working space in the same building as its headquarters. Platform 24, which opened Thursday, is the first co-working space in Carmel and is open 24 hours a day and seven days a week. It has eight dedicated offices and open space that can accommodate about 70. It boasts about 25 members so far.
