After four years as an afternoon and evening reporter and fill-in anchor, Elizabeth Choi is departing WISH-TV Channel 8.

Choi, a Hoosier native, announced on her Facebook page that Friday would be her last day at the Indianapolis station.

“I don't know how to tell you this. I've sorta been delaying the inevitable. I have decided to move on from WISH-TV after four years. … This was not an easy decision for me to make. After all, I love my work, colleagues, the station and my hometown,” Choi wrote on her Facebook page.

“But after much thought and prayer, I’ve concluded, it’s time for me to make a change. Right now I’m not certain exactly what that change will be. I have some idea, but I need a little time to think about my next move. And when I make that decision, you’ll be the first to know. … This is not a goodbye…it’s a stay tuned.”

Choi began her career at WHIZ-TV Zanesville, Ohio. She has also worked for WTVG-TV in Toledo, Ohio. She was a recipient of several awards from the Ohio Associated Press, including best anchor, best reporter and best broadcast writing.

Choi, who joined WISH-TV in 2015, grew up in Brown County, graduated from Ball State University and resides in Greenwood.

Choi is the second reporter/anchor to leave WISH this year after her contract expired. Morning reporter and fill-in anchor Emily Kinzer, a Nashville, Tennessee, native announced her departure in late January.

WISH-TV officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
