Subscribe NowA nonstop transatlantic flight schedule between Indianapolis and Ireland that was launched in May will be expanded during the summer travel season next year, Indianapolis International Airport announced Thursday.
The route between Indianapolis International Airport and Dublin Airport is on pace to exceed more than 20,000 total passengers by the end of September. Due to the response, Aer Lingus plans to add an extra weekly flight between the cities on Thursdays starting April 13 and continuing through the summer.
“We’re going from four nonstop flights per week to five per week,” said Maggie Cunningham, director of air service and airport experience for the Indianapolis airport, in written comments. “We had set a goal of increasing flight frequency in summer 2027, so to hit that goal an entire year earlier is a testament to how successful the flight is among leisure and business travelers.”
As previously announced, the Indianapolis-Dublin route will not operate in January and February.
Indiana is home to more than 50 Ireland-based businesses.
“Our direct service between Dublin and Indianapolis has exceeded expectations, with strong demand, particularly from customers in the U.S., driving our decision to increase frequency for summer 2026,” said Reid Moody, Aer Lingus chief strategy and planning officer, in written remarks. “This route plays an important role in supporting the growing business and cultural ties between Ireland and Indiana, and reinforces Aer Lingus’ commitment to connecting key U.S. cities with Europe through our Dublin hub.”
Aer Lingus is Ireland’s flagship carrier, serving more than 100 global destinations, including 19 U.S. cities.

That’s good news!
Now if only we could manage to attract a few flights to other major European cities such as London, Paris, or Rome. Indianapolis is home to the US HQ of Rolls Royce and people travel to England constantly from Indy. I don’t get why we can’t have a flight to either London or Manchester!!
