None of the bills – those dealing with property taxes, 13th checks, foreign ownership of agricultural land, limits to the governor’s executive powers and expanded firearm carry rights in the state capitol complex – need to become law. The legislature can do themselves – and the rest of us – a big favor by adjourning sine die.

  2. If they pass the anti-semitism bill, I hope they make it clear that questioning the policies and practices of a theocratic nation state is not the same as being opposed to or denigrating that religion. If I disagree with the state of Israel, that doesn’t mean I’m antisemitic. If I disagree with Iran or Saudi Arabia, it doesn’t mean I’m intending to denigrate Islam. If I disagree with King Charles, it doesn’t make me opposed to the Anglican Communion. Especially with regard to Israel, questioning the actions of that nation’s leaders and military has been conflated with antisemitism.
