  1. Chuck had better review his history, closing off the borders and isolating the US has only gotten us into bigger problems and wars. Better to support the Ukraine and keep the war over there than let Russian / Putin’s power grow any further.

  2. Yup….let’s be honest there is no better investment than Ukraine killing Russians. This ain’t the army of the republic of vietnam….the Uke’s want to fight…are skilled at it….and either we send the message right now that we will not allow a territorial taking by force in this day and age…or we don’t. Or in the alternative….we can let this happen and that would signal China vis a vie Taiwan…and if that happens, then we can take Cuba, Nicaragua, and Venezuela under the Monroe Doctororine…..and we can go back to sphere of influence in the late 1800’s

    1. EXACTLY. The foreign policy implications for pulling support for Ukraine are HUGE. It would simply signal to other world powers that the U.S. won’t intervene in regional conflicts (which can quickly escalate).

  3. Frankly both of them are despicable and deserve each other. The people running to represent Indiana on the GOP side are basically a race to the bottom. Indiana deserves better but we won’t get it. Goodrich is, like so many of his counterparts, more interested in bashing immigrants to score political points then aiding an ally who has been invaded and their country brutalized. Short sighted people like him are what is slowly eroding any respect we have left in the world.

  4. Goodrich’s ad in which he sucks up to Trump and states that their opinion on transgender athletes is more important than Spartz’s support of Ukraine is disgusting. Hundreds of thousands of people being killed including families, versus a handful of people playing sports. Really Chuck??? That stance isn’t fit to serve any type of community in a responsible and ethical leadership role.

  5. Good on Goodrich for accurately calling out the raiding of our Treasury, putatively to save Ukraine, while of course destroying it for no good reason other than “Russia bad.” The United States started this war, and the United States could end it tomorrow. Insanity.

    1. Pray tell, how did the US start this war? By offering Ukranians membership in the Western democracies’ society? EU membership (which the US can’t offer)? By possible membership in NATO? By pressuring Ukraine to give up its Soviet-era nuclear weapons in exchange for an agreement to protect Ukraine if Russia attacked? Is offering a country membership in EU and NATO grounds for invasion? Really? By that logic, any NATO member, especially the Baltic states, could in your eyes be invaded by Russia? Poland? Yep, you’re all for that invasion. The Czech Republic and Republic of Slovakia? Yep, they’re gone. Hungary, Germany, Romania…all former Soviet vassal states that are no longer in the Russian domain (though Hungary and Romania are a bit iffy).
I recall Biden offering Zelensky sanctuary and protected transport out of the country…he responded something like he didn’t need a ride, he needed ammunition.
It’s cowards like Richard S and the MAGA Republicans that cause the US to lose its stature in the world. Our enemies, from Russia and China to the Houthis to Hamas, no longer fear the US. Because they now know we won’t be bothered to defend our friends and interests (except for Israel, where even the US may finally have had enough of war crimes and atrocities).

    2. How “brave” of you, Tim S., to ignore the bloody U.S.-backed 2014 coup that toppled Ukraine’s elected government and installed a puppet regime. How “honorable” of you to not acknowledge the thousands of Russian-speaking Ukrainians in the Donbass killed by a U.S.-backed Nazi battalion, in violation of the Minsk accords. How “courageous” of you and all of these other commenters to align with the U.S. security state and parrot this opposite-of-reality propaganda.

Geniuses like you are complicit in the U.S. government currently setting the world on fire. So “manly” and bold.

  6. We agree with the comment. Let’s be honest there is no better investment than assisting Ukraine destroy “Putin”, both economically and military.

The Ukraine very much furiously fighting for their homeland. They are very skilled at it, as well also very innovative and creative. “Before the war, many of Russia’s technology developments were from Ukraine.” Russia’s loss of Ukraine’s technology is a major reason it is losing the war.

We and NATO have to send the message now that taking territories by Russian force will not be permitted.

Goodrich tactics are as unpopular and unwelcomed as “smelly” Golden Tennis Shoes

  7. Why are you concerned that WaPo is interested? Maybe they have an interest in covering the ongoing Trumpification of the Republican Party. Maybe Spartz’s family fortune bought their interest? Who cares. It seems to be a good idea that someone outside of Indiana is paying attention…

  8. Putin at this point is no major threat to the US. Plenty problems of their own. Ms. Sparta is obviously loyal and sympathetic to her Homeland. At this point monies Sent to the Ukraine are subject to the biggest laundering and kickback schemes generated in history. The deep state continues to get richer ofln the taxpayers back
