  1. Congratulations to Elanco! Centralizing both their science and their brand gravity in Indianapolis is genuinely good news. It’s time for our other Indy life-science heavyweights (Lilly, Corteva, Roche, Beckman Coulter, and others) to match this leadership by committing new jobs and new suppliers to the CITY CENTER, where Indy can finally gain the full benefits of agglomeration: greater efficiency, stronger wages, faster hiring, tighter supply chains, and richer innovation spillovers. These agglomeration benefits don’t materialize when jobs are scattered across a sprawling metro. They only happen when they cluster in a vibrant center. We have so many powerful actors in the realm. More action in the center will spawn greater synergy and growth, better living, and a better economy for all. City leaders must do their part as well by helping make the urban core a more attractive place for workers and residents. Indy’s future growth depends on this alignment. We CAN do this! Hats off to Jeffrey Simmons and his team! More of this, PLEASE!
