Rural areas have gun violence too, many of them worse than cities. But shootings in rural areas don’t receive the kind of right-wing media attention from Fox News, and it’s doing a disservice to people in rural and urban areas alike.

You are correct that rural America is armed to the teeth. Where you’re wrong is that these places experience less gun crime. Please stop pushing this false narrative to score political points with right-wingers. It hurts urban and rural residents when such headline-grabbing misinformation is parried about.
No level of gun violence is acceptable. You are right that Indianapolis needs to do better, and a lot of the blame definitely lays at the feet of the mayor. But this narrative that cities are so much more violent than rural areas and suburbs is false and harmful because it leads people (like you) to demonize cities and the people who live there, which contributes to a perception that cities are dangerous and unlivable, which feeds into a cycle of disinvestment and violence. Not only this, but pretending that rural areas are safe havens obscures the fact that violent crime is just as (or more so) rampant in these places on a per-capita basis.

That is not who he is. He served on the City Council twice! He is not board, he wants to make a change in the town he grew up in! He would be the first Indy mayor to have served on the council! The knowledge will prove helpful when he is mayor, so will the relationships. The only guy that thinks he is entitled in this race is Hogsett. He said himself that there should be term limits. But here he is going back on his word and running for a third term. He is hoping democrats like you will annoint him mayor. Eight years is enough! IT IS TIME FOR A CHANGE!
